Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has pledged to redouble his efforts in serving the people following his recognition as Nigeria’s Best Performing Governor.
The award, presented by Democracy Heroes Award Africa, was conferred during a colorful ceremony held last Thursday at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
Receiving the award on behalf of the governor, the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Abubakar Buba, described the honor as well deserved.
He noted that Governor Uba Sani’s remarkable achievements in infrastructure — spanning both urban and rural areas — made the recognition timely and fitting.
“In just 30 months in office, Governor Uba Sani has initiated 88 groundbreaking projects covering a total of 785 kilometers across Kaduna State. Forty-five of these have already been completed — an unprecedented feat in the state’s history,” Buba said.
He further emphasized that the governor’s accomplishments go beyond infrastructure, highlighting his commitment to inclusive governance, equitable development, and transparency.
Buba also commended the Democracy Heroes Award Africa for its thorough evaluation process, which led to the governor’s selection for the top honor.
According to him, Governor Uba Sani dedicated the award to the people of Kaduna State, expressing gratitude for the mandate they gave him in the 2023 elections.
“The governor believes the trust and support of the people provided the platform to execute the transformative projects that earned him this recognition,” Buba added.
